Punta Chame

Punta Chame offers its visitors some peculiar landscapes. It is a long, narrow peninsula with an ocean on both sides and endless white-sand beaches. The beach region continues to grow not only as a retirement destination, but as a place to enjoy the weekend and escape the hustle and bustle of the city. One of the assets of the area is its proximity to grocery stores, banks, medical centers and international schools and of course the beach.

El Palmar

El Palmar is a black sand beach near the town of San Carlos. It has a very good atmosphere and has all the services, apart from being an ideal beach for surfing. Here you will find restaurants, bars, ranches for rent, surf class, showers, lifeguards, hotels, hostels and camping areas. This has made it a place with a lively atmosphere to enjoy. There are many accommodation options that include all services, including parking.

Río Mar

Río Mar is the next immediate beach after El Palmar, taking a left off the Pan-American Highway when coming from Panama City. The entrance is very well signposted, so you won’t have any trouble finding it.

Note that as you enter Río Mar, you will see a barrio area with houses lining the street. These are all private properties, so you shouldn’t block parking lots there. If you drive to the end (the paved road takes you to the right) you will come across the Rio Mar Beach Front Condominiums. This is a private area too and you can’t access it through there. So the path is actually over a rocky path to the left when you reach the end of the paved road.
