Valle de Antón

El Valle de Antón is a beautiful mountain town located in the crater of an extinct volcano. Located on the mountainside of the Pacific Riviera, a visit to Valle de Antón is the perfect complement to a trip to the beach.

Not only is there plenty to do and see there, but you’ll also be able to beat the low-lying heat, as the city is 600 meters above sea level.

In the Anton Valley you will find beautiful landscapes, streets full of flowers and lush green mountains. You will also be able to enjoy the fresh air of the mountains and temperatures that range between 10 and 25 ºC, which makes the valley the perfect place for walking.

India Dormida

The Sleeping India of Panama is a tourist place that consists of a set of mountains located in El Valle de Antón in Panama. It is an excellent hike (climbing) to the top. You will see incredible diversity of flora and even fauna.

Make sure you bring water and your camera, because you will have a very nice adventure. La India Dormida is one of the best that El Valle has to offer.

Zoológico El Níspero

The center is one of two captive amphibian breeding facilities in Panama.

They are dedicated to endangered amphibians, as part of the largest Amphibian Rescue and Conservation Project in Panama.

It is located on the grounds of the El Níspero Zoo in Panama. It is the first Panamanian amphibian breeding center in danger of extinction. It was built as an emergency response to the decline in amphibians when the chytrid fungus reached El Valle de Antón in 2006.

Canopy

Canopy Adventure is located in a beautiful valley (El Valle de Antón), not so far from Panama City, the country’s capital. This ecotourism attraction allows visitors to enter and explore the tropical forest canopy using safe and modern mountaineering techniques.

Museo El Caño

Just 160 km southwest of Panama City is one of the most important archaeological sites in Panama. First discovered in 1925, El Caño was not formally investigated until the 1970s, and even then, investigations were very superficial. Until, in the early 2000s, a team led by archaeologist Julia Mayo began a new formal investigation at the El Caño site.

Do you want to know what they found? Several extensive cemeteries revealed the existence of a pre-Columbian civilization that may have lived in the area between 700-1000 AD. This epic discovery has been widely publicized by National Geographic and is still part of an ongoing archaeological investigation that you can witness in person.

Museo de la Sal y el Azúcar

The museum preserves the history, customs and traditions of Aguadulce. It contains objects and utensils used by the natives dedicated to the extraction of sea salt, up to the rudimentary instruments used for the extraction of salt and products derived from sugar cane.
